Puerto Madryn, a coastal city with a wide
seafront avenue and attractive rugged cliffs and their adjacent
waters, contained by the gulfs San José and Nuevo.
Just 40 km north, we find the entrance to Peninsula Valdes,
one of the biggest natural parks still existing, this protect
area, which enjoys the status of ¨Natural Patrimony of
Mankind¨. We could enjoy the whale watching and visiting
sea lion and elephant seal reserves. The peninsula shelters
the only continental concentrations of elephant seals and
sea lions in Punta Norte, Punta Loma and Puerto Pirámides.
In turn, the Island of the Birds, in the San José Gulf,
harbors a large reserve of seabirds. To the south of Puerto
Madryn, we find Punta Tombo, concentrates the largest continental
population of penguins in South America,
